Publication and Corporate Communication Manager

Located in Redmond WA, SystImmune Inc. is a bio-pharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of cancer through developing novel therapeutic bi-specific, and tri-specific antibodies, as well as antibody-drug conjugates (ADC's). Our objective is to create biologics that work through systematic intervention on the solid tumor micro-environment, to either directly attack the tumor and/or to activate the immune system to attack the tumor. We are a group of highly experienced immuno-oncology scientists utilizing several technology platforms to develop world class advanced antibody-based drug therapies.  

As a Senior Manager, Publications and Corporate Communications you will assist our authors in the writing and development of our scientific, clinical, and health-outcomes publications (journal articles, scientific conference presentations). You will provide medical writing expertise for our products/therapeutic areas. You will be communicating our scientific narratives in alignment with publication strategy, interpret statistical analyses, and ensure the readability and scientific content of medical communications. She/he will implement a corporate communications plan to strengthen Systimmmune corporate reputation and drive employee engagement. The right individual will bring the company’s story and culture to life as we further establish Systimmune as a leader in complement driven by courageous science, creativity, and compassion. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Interfacing cross-functionally and with alliance-wide publications teams to ensure effective implementation of the writing process. 

  • Assuming responsibility for accurate documentation, working with all publications-related partners, including senior scientists and authors, in all phases of publication development. 

  • Coordinating efforts with publication management lead(s)/vendor agency to ensure completion of tasks required from project initiation through final publication/presentation. 

  • Providing accurate, objective, and balanced information to the scientific community, health care professionals, regulatory authorities, pharmacy benefit managers, and patients in a consistent and timely fashion across the entire drug development lifecycle. 

  • Writing and editing the content of scientific, clinical and health-outcomes abstracts, posters, presentations, digital enhancements, and manuscripts aligned with scientific narrative and objectives. Responsible for incorporation of author/reviewer feedback and comment resolution. 

  • Adhering to standardized publication processes and guidance documents. Maintains current awareness of publication guidances and best practices (such as ICJME, GPP3, CONSORT, etc.), US Sunshine Act reporting, and company policies. 

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of publication reviews, quality checks, approvals, submissions, copy editing, page proof review, and production in collaboration with the publication lead(s)/vendor agency/alliance partner 

  • Develop and implement an external communications program that includes content development, thought leadership, and media relations to further establish the company as an emerging leader in biotech.. 

  • Evolve Systimmune corporate narrative to highlight our innovative work across Oncology. Develop materials and ensure consistent communication across audiences and regions. 

  • Develop and implement an employee communications plan to build understanding of our corporate strategy and drive engagement across the company’s ~30 employees. 

  • Partner with HR and employee resource groups to support our recruitment efforts, highlight Systimmune unique culture, and share stories of our values in action. 

  • Collaborate with Research to create messaging/stories that highlight our innovative science. 

  • Ensure the integrity of the brand externally and internally; develop design agency strategy for corporate materials. 

  • Serve as a company spokesperson to the media, and a trusted and collaborative partner and advisor to colleagues across the company. 


To be considered for this you must have a master's degree in life science with a PhD being preferred. Your experience should include 3-5 years of scientific and clinical writing of journal articles from a biopharma company and/or medical publications agency. Strong scientific background, with ability to understand complex research data and clinical trial results and health-outcomes research, and firm familiarity with clinical study design and statistics. You experience will include writing and critical review of abstracts, presentations, manuscripts. Publications management experience is a plus.
