Vice President, Business Development

Located in Redmond WA, Systimmune Inc. is a clinical-stage bio-pharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of cancer through developing breakthrough-therapeutic multi-specific antibodies, as well as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Currently, the company has eight assets in ongoing clinical trials and a robust preclinical pipeline of therapeutics from discovery through IND-enabling stage. 

Summary:  

SystImmune seeks a head of Business Development. You will lead business development strategy toward licensing, and partnership execution, to accelerate SystImmune’s clinical asset progress.   

You will establish an ambitious business development plan that integrates into SystImmune’s scientific, strategic and financing plans.  Successful outcomes in this role are negotiated deals that fully capture the value unlocked by SystImmune’s innovative technology platforms. Key to this position will be seeking potential opportunities for partnership, co-development, clinical trial collaboration or out-licensing of promising early-stage clinical assets.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Establish a network of BD professionals across the pharmaceutical and biopharma industries 

  • Creating compelling partner pitch decks to tell the story of SystImmune and our products  

  • Preparation of high-level and science-focused presentation materials and management of external communications with potential partners. 

  • Work closely with the scientific team to define and deliver key data package to enable effective BD outreach 

  • Construct an internal BD organizational system, including the tracking, documentation, and status reporting of all collaborations along the BD pipeline 

  • Working closely with the legal counsel on contract construction and review  

  • Leading deal negotiations and negotiation strategy for clinical collaborations, licenses, and material transfer agreements  

  • Analyzing and proposing term structures and ranges based on financial models and relevant comps  

  • Constructing term sheets in partnership with CEO, Finance and general and outside counsel 

Qualifications:  

  • MBA or graduate degree in life sciences; Ph.D. is a plus with a minimum of 10 years of experience working for a pharmaceutical or biotech company in business development or licensing functions 

  • Deal-stage oncology experience is required  

  • A thorough understanding of drug discovery trends and current competitive landscape in oncology 

  • Ability to work through a wide range of complex intellectual and practical problems. Ability to understand scientific concepts to make significant judgments about business opportunities 

  • Deal sheet consisting of completed sell-side licensing and/or M&A transactions  

  • Demonstrated experience with many different deal structures and partnership models, particularly for early-stage clinical oncology assets
