Senior Scientist, Immuno-Oncology (NK cell)
Redmond, WA
This on-site laboratory role is in the preclinical research and development group. The ideal candidate is a highly energetic and motivated scientist with experience in discovery and development of protein therapeutics. The position requires a strong background in immunology oncology, and the NK cell biology field, as well as hands-on experience with major biotechnology platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and apply in vitro, in vivo, and in site models to identify and characterize novel antibody therapeutics
- Evaluate novel pathways and mechanisms for immunological therapeutic intervention and formulate strategies for bispecific and combination approaches
- Work as part of highly collaborative interdisciplinary team
- Prepare written reports to specification and oral presentations on research projects
- Prepare documents for submission to domestic and international regulatory agencies
- Lead immuno-oncology preclinical projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- PhD in immunology, cancer biology or related field with 2-5+ years of relevant academic and/or pharmaceutical or biotech experience
- Background in human NK cell biology, or NK cell receptor signaling research
- Expertise in discovery and development of protein therapeutics and mammalian cell culture
- Research experience in developing bispecific antibodies is preferred
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess the right attitude (agile, curious, positive, open-minded, “can-do” mindset), and have the ability and strong desire to “make things happen”
Work Environment:
- Bench top work in a BSL-2 laboratory environment, including potential exposure to biohazards
- Adherence to Health and Safety standards when working with temperature-controlled systems, including liquid and vapor phase liquid nitrogen
Physical Demands:
- Occasional lifting to 30 pounds
- Requires repetitive multi-channel pipetting, single channel pipetting, and computer data entry
- Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office and lab equipment, repetitive motion with lab equipment
- Stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, or climbing ladders
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- May need to work outside of standard working hours at times
- This role is currently working onsite and is expected to work onsite for working hours, with flexibility to work start time. The work location for this role is in Redmond, WA..
Travel:
- Attendance and participation in national and international conferences encouraged
The hiring pay range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
